Job purpose:
In the function of system administrator, you are responsible for our current (www.standvirtual.com & www.leiloes.net) and future websites and the quality of our services. By optimizing and improving our systems, you prepare us for a stable future. This is possible with soft- or hardware solutions.
Main activities:
The system administrator we seek is also responsible for our internal system maintenance. It’s your job to facilitate applications like mail, development environments, backup internet connections etc.
Finally, as part of the service team (2nd line) we expect that you are flexible and know how to communicate with our customers. It speaks for itself that you are able to solve a large spectrum of problems.
Main job requirements:
* Advice our developers about the possibilities of the platform;
* Discuss with colleagues about possible solutions and challenges;
* Monitor performance and uptime of the platform;
* Improve the platform for best performance;
* Prevent downtime and disruptions.
Competences:
* Experienced with Linux (preferable Debian);
* Familiar with open source web platforms (Apache, MySQL, PHP etc.);
* Preferable experience with high bandwidth/traffic sites and applications;
* Experience with Firewalls, load balancers and security issues;
* Knowledge in TCP/IP, DNS and other protocols;
* Experience in the webhosting branch is mandatory;
* Practical and good in stressful situations.
